Rev. Dr. Marilyn Leo

Marilyn has been a part of Religious Science since childhood. Her family was very close with Ernest and Hazel Holmes from 1915. She has served on many committees and received several special recognitions including the “Living Treasure Award” given by her ministerial colleagues.

At the present time, though retired from the usual ministerial duties, she serves Religious Science in the Archives, is Treasurer of the UCRS - Wisdom Council (retired ministers) and serves on the board of The Hefferlin Foundation, an independent non-profit foundation supporting the teaching of Science of Mind.

Besides this latest effort, In His Company: Ernest Holmes Remembered, she has contributed the manuscript for That Was Ernest written by her father, Dr. Reginald Armor and published by DeVorss & Company. She compiled and edited Love and Law published by
J Tarcher/Putnam/Penquin, and she wrote the Foreword for John Waterhouse’s book Five Steps to Freedom, which, incidentally, has been recorded on CD and has become required reading for some Science of Mind classes.

What People Are Saying About In His Company By Marilyn Leo

“It is excellent! I have read several other books on Dr. Holmes’ life, and enjoyed them all. But, for some reason, yours seems especially informative and inspiring. The way you put it together – I find interesting. Also, the human interest stories and events you describe make Dr. Holmes almost come alive and walk off the pages of your book. I don’t find that that happens often in reading about a person’s life. I feel like I have known the man after my read of your book.”
Dr. Catherine Ponder, Author of the many books on the Dynamic Laws of Love and Prosperity and celebrating fifty years in the New Thought movement

“It brought the essence of Religious Science back in focus.”  Virginia Meletz

“Your fascinating new book arrived yesterday, and I cannot put it down! What a treat to read so much about the great man’s personal life, by one who knew him so well. (One of the highlights of my early ministry was presiding, or sharing a lovely wedding with him [Holmes] at Santa Anita church!”
Dr. Margaret M. Stevens, Author and long time minister of Santa Anita Church, presently sharing her love and life in Ashland, Oregon

“Dr. Leo has captured a crucial piece of the history of our spiritual movement. The life of Ernest Holmes is a source of inspiration and information essential for all ministers and practitioners to use and enjoy.”
Rev. Marilyn Miller, minister and author in Ventura County CA.
